All About Playgroups
What are playgroups?
Playgroup is an hour of fun for you and your little one! We focus on a learning theme each month by playing with appropriate toys and activities together. We take time to clean up our toys, read stories together, and sing songs. Your child will also learn about making friends, sharing, taking turns, and interacting in a group. It is always free and there’s no pre-registration.
Why should my child and I attend playgroups?
Playgroup is a great way for your child to begin making friends, in fact, many grown ups do the same thing! Social skills are key in helping a child get ready for school, so we are happy to provide this opportunity. The Judy Center’s goal is Kindergarten Readiness, and this begins with social and emotional development!
Where and when can we attend?
When possible, we are encouraging families to attend their home school site. We also have community locations and online playgroups. You can check out our monthly calendars here on our website and on our social media channels. If you have any questions regarding playgroup, please reach out to Katie Valetutti at kevaletutti@ccps.org.
